Amoeba Music Series
An unprecedented virtual live music experience in the metaverse.
Amoeba Music Series
visualizes the internet algorithm that bring relevant information in front of different users according to their browsing pattern. Supported by the gradually maturing web3, which is also being referred to as the immersive internet, the design explores the notion of space that virtual content will be read in the future.
Dynamic movement of digital feeds
Representing different scale of spaces where virtual content are read with spheres of different sizes, and representing the feed that are directed to social media users after an action is taken with color coding. The design articulate through the optimised tragetory of sphere movement and the continuous isosurface that wrap around them in order to generate non-collapsable space while the relationship of spaces are changing.
Form finding and Rough Coloration
Generative algorithm that used by many to create assets stored in blockchain in the form of NFT is usually seen as an opportunity to produce large sets of visuals which are varied yet inherit similar characteristics. Behind the commercial consideration of launching limited numbers of each series for sales, few people have awared that the logic of generative algorithm comes from the theory of natural selection, a natural evolution of species that keep on introducing variations and making everything unique in this world. Different from the fake randomness generated from the computer in the past, both natural selection and genertaive algorithm perform optimization under a certain condition while creating variations.
To empower people to shape the future of virtual reality, they have to know more about the reality.
Participatory Design
Noticing the sensibility of tech giant (ex. Sandbox, Decentraland, meta/facebook, google) to customers taste, the participatory design approach aims at co-creating awareness and values within the public on the kind of metaverse that they would accept. To broaden urban dwellers on the possibility of experience in this hybrid world of physical and digital, the remaining pattern of the AMOEBA series would be created as results of various field trip to nature and specimen study at the HKU to statically investigate different natural pattern in a microscopic scale.
